In den 90er Jahren verlangsamte sich ihre Karriere jedoch und trat in den Hintergrund. Cindy hat sich seitdem am Broadway engagiert und sogar einen Grammy und Tony für ihre musikalischen Bemühungen gewonnen und ist eine LGBT-Rechtsanhängerin geworden.
