Assim como muitos outros aspirantes a jovens atores, Gloria Henry começou a ganhar dinheiro aparecendo em comerciais, antes de fazer um acordo com a Columbia Pictures Durante os anos 40. Embora ela tenha aparecido em alguns filmes, ela não chegou a ter grandes papéis até 1950. Foi quando ela começou a aparecer na icônica comédia Dennis The Menace, como a mãe de Dennis, Alice Mitchell. Depois que a série terminou, Henry tentou se manter relevante na indústria, mas não conseguiu, e seu último crédito como atriz é uma aparição em Parks And Recreation,em 2012.
